There were two main types of fuel gauge fitted to Jaguars of the period: one that has '1/4, 1/2 and 3/4' written on the face (C28496) and one that only has '1/4 and 1/2' (C16896). Please check your car before ordering but our experience is that fitments are as follows:

• Series 1 E-Type 3.8 - Predominantly C16896 but sometimes C28496
• Series 1 E-Type 4.2 - C28496
• Series 1.5 E-Type - Can be either
• Series 2 E-Type - C28496
• Series 3 E-Type - C28496
• MK2 - Predominantly C16896 but sometimes C28496 on later cars

When used for Jaguar MK2 this fits vehicles with chassis number:

• 150001 onwards - RHD 3.4
• 175001 onwards - LHD 3.4
• 200001 onwards - RHD 3.8
• 230001 onwards - RHD 3.8
• 220098 onwards - LHD 3.8
• 1J50004 to 1J51117 - RHD 340 model
• 1J80001 to 1J80221 - LHD 340 model

When used for Daimler V8 this fits vehicles with chassis number:

• 1A1001 and subsequent - RHD 2 1/2 litre model
• 1A20001 and subsequent - LHD 2 1/2 litre model

Also from chassis number:

• 1K1001 to 1K1980 - RHD 250 model
• 1K30001 to 1K30045 - LHD 250 model

Recreated with an electronic movement and clock as original from the front with a billet case containing the movements

Complete kit including oil pressure sender unit and a new gauge. This uses an electrical connection between the sender and the gauge as per original.

Kit to convert to a 'wet' oil pressure gauge. This takes a direct feed of oil from the oil pressure sender fitting on the engine block direct to the gauge itself.

The kit includes all parts necessary to convert from an electronic gauge to a wet gauge:

• Smiths oil pressure gauge
• Adaptor between engine block and braided steel hose
• Braided steel hose.

This part is currently no longer available.
